Emerald Tree Boa Care Sheet : Caging

Without delving into any elaborate or detailed explanations, the purpose of this document is to provide a quick basic reference tool. Intended for use as a glossary style resource, the subjects are NOTalphabetized, rather they appear in order of logical grouping.

Caging Philosophy : General
Simplicity and functionality are based upon standardization
Through the elimination of multiple cage cleaning routines and modularity, the use of standardized, prepared materials can be utilized. This allows worn, broken, or simply soiled components to be replaced quickly and easily with minimal disturbance to the animal. Thus, one can quickly move through an entire room full of cages in just minutes, all the while maintaining a pristine environment. Increased cleanliness and stress reduction on both the keeper and the kept is the ultimate payoff.

Enclosure : Neonate to Sub-Adult
For animals from 30grams & 12" long to .5kg and over three feet in length I have used two enlosures that I would highly recommend.

The E.T.B.O. PolyBox : Super strong, crystal clear plexcarbon tank type enclosure.

Dimensions: 18"W x 9"D x 12"H. Features: A water-tight, snap sealed, ribbed lid allows these enclosures to be stacked securely. This design provides adequate room for even the largest arboreal species neonates to young adults and can alternately be used as permanent individual caging for smaller arboreal species.
